Hello everyone and welcome to Twelve-Eight. I started this blog because I don’t want the journalist in me to die. I am a recent journalism grad heading to law school in August and I want to keep traveling, telling stories and developing creative content.
So far I’ve gone wherever the winds of the sports world have pushed me. I was born in Boston, went to school in Virginia, did internships in North Carolina and Alabama, and will be on my way to Philadelphia shortly. I am grateful for the many stops on my journey and hope to share them with you here. I believe a diverse group of experiences makes you stronger, wiser and ready to take on new challenges as they come.
Here’s the answer to the big question. What will you get out of reading Twelve-Eight? I hope to uplift and inspire you. I want you to engage, share, ask questions and give criticism. I want this to be a place where you can interact and have genuine conversations. This site will be a collection of my thoughts, a sort of digital extension of myself. And since a little book called The Slight Edge taught me that positive thoughts change your world in a positive way, you can expect to find mostly good vibes here.
So here’s your chance to hop on the bandwagon before this thing gets big. Kidding. But not really. All you need to know is that I like producing content and that means I’ll work at it. Because I’ll work at it I’ll get better. As I keep getting better, eventually we’ll have something pretty cool on our hands. In the end, that’s all that matters. Thanks for embarking on this journey with me. Please come back, subscribe and tell your friends.
May we get out our dreams like Kanye, take advantage of early morning epiphanies like Hov, and speak greatness into existence like Lavar did for Lonzo. Take pride in being different. Dare to be yourself. Craft a vision so bold that other people can’t even begin to understand it. That’s the way I live my life. I encourage you to do the same.
